Designer Suneet Verma’s showcase for the India Couture Week 2021 is enticingly called Noor, or Noor by SV to be precise. Lo and behold as Suneet takes you on an exciting journey that depicts the importance of celebration in our lives – young lovers, secret love notes, stolen glances, and that camaraderie.
Depicting real-life scenarios and weaving his couture collection 2021 in the film. Throwing light on the collection, Suneet Verma states, “I understand the importance of finery and couture at an Indian wedding, and I also understand the needs of the modern young Bride and Groom – whether the wedding is a lavish one or an intimate elopement “
The collection comprises of beautiful pastels – in mint, ice-blue, blush, and yellow, with tone-on-tone embroidery in delicate glass beads, crystals, and threadwork for a daytime function in ultra-feminine, soft, flowy silhouettes. Sheer sleeves, off-shoulder necklines, and deep scalloped backs make for a sensual yet modest young bride. The groom wears easy, pastel-colored sherwanis with thread embroidery and modern hemlines.
The wedding collection is in varied shades of Ruby, Sindhoor, and Sienna Reds. The embroidery is more lavish in gold zari threadwork with Silver Zardosi to give it a modern twist. Suneet Stays true to his passion for creating new embroidery techniques and mixes old traditional arts with a Modern eye- for the shapes and Silhouettes. Soft 16 kali skirts in silk tanchoi with long trails, sheer, mysterious veils in tulle, and sharara sets in silk georgette.
The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in association with Hindustan Times has scheduled the second, digital edition of the India Couture Week 2021 from August 23-29, 2021. The 14th edition of the event is witnessing interesting themes by the country’s 19 couturiers – Amit Aggarwal, Amit GT, Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi, Ashima Leena, Dolly J, Falguni Shane Peacock, Gaurav Gupta, Kunal Rawal, Manish Malhotra, Pankaj & Nidhi, Rahul Mishra, Reynu Taandon, Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna, Shantanu & Nikhil, Siddartha Tytler, Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani and Varun Bahl. The couturiers fashion films will be streamed on all the FDCI’s digital platforms —- Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and FDCI website.
FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi says, “We have some of the finest names this year and they have come up with the most out-of-the-box narratives to create a visual treat for the audience. I wish them the best for this exciting journey ahead.”.
